Intercepting Boredom

THE SETTING: Where we are in the story

• Jesus during these 40 days:
  • “shows himself and gives many convincing proofs”
  • Two themes:
    • “spoke about the kingdom”
    • “spoke about the gift the Father promised”
• “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

JESUS’ ANSWER

• “Not for you to know the times…”
• “…the Father has set (the time) by his own authority.”
  

JESUS’ ALTERNATIVE TO BOREDOM…BUT you…

• …Will receive power.
• …Will be my witnesses:

WHERE MISSION HAPPENS?

• your Jerusalem—
• your Judea—
• your Samaria—
• AND to the ends of the earth.

HOW TO RESIST BOREDOM

• Go
• Send
• Pray

…or disobey… and remain bored!
